"Europe for Citizens" in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén

Participation:
The VIEW project (618259-CITIZ-1-2020-1-HU-CITIZ-TT) involved 306 citizens, notably 125 participants from the Organization Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county government (Hungary), 40 participants from the Organization VAMOS (Cyprus), 28 participants from the Organization Kilkenny Twilight (Ireland), 43 participants from the the Organization Biodistretto della Via Amerina (Italy), 24 participants from the Local Council Association (Malta), 46 participants from the Organization Ente Ottava Medievale (Italy).

- Arrival of the delegates at Budapest airport and accomodation in Mezőkövesd-Zsóry

- Presentation of the official programme of the International Meeting
- Name Game to introduce the participants
- Tour of the historical center of Mezőkövesd-Zsóry
- Dinner

The day of 01/09/2022 was dedicated to
- Presentation of the partners’ municipalities
- Seminar: Setting the problem-The migration of populations in history- speech by experts
- Show&Tell: We were migrants-past experience of migration in partners' countries
- Lunch
- Visit to the Organization's Head quarter of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (Miskolc) - meeting with Hungarian mayors
- Seminar: "European Solidarity Corps" - a new European Initiative for volunteering at EU level - with experts
- Dinner organised by local associations

The day of 02/09/2022 was dedicated to
- Analysis of past crisis and their effect on the social and solidal tissue of Europe
- EU policies and the response of the EU to international crisis. Analysis of experiences from partner countries and perception of Eu ruling at local level
- Meeting in the city hall with the city counsellor for social affair and welfare
- Project Work: drafting of proposals on how the EU Solidarity Corps could improve heritage valorisation projects at EU level
- Theme based visit to youth working association

The day of 03/09/2022 was dedicated to
- Guided research with experts: Past crisis and their effect on Europe
- Case study: EU policies and the response of the EU to international crisis
- Study visit to youth working association and best practices exchange
- Lunch

- Guided research with experts on the History of the Union
- Seminar: Union's values and aims, Why was the Union created?
- European stereotypes- How we see each other: draft of a map of stereotypes
- Confrontation and problem solving: how are stereotypes built? how do we overcome them?
- Lunch
- Visit to Bükki Nemzeti Park

The day of 05/09/2022 was dedicated to
- The Others: Analysis of xenophobic propaganda in partners' countries
- Opposing propaganda: draft of true datas to debunk xenophobia
- Confrontation of results
- Lunch
- Role Playing-simulation of a debate opposing propaganda to true data
- The importance of citizens engagement in shaping the Europe of the Future - with experts
- Visit to local Social Enterprises working with migrants Happy hour brainstorming with associations and social enterprises at local and at national level

The day of 06/09/2022 was dedicated to
- Greetings by the Mayors and the President of BAZ County
- VIEW: achievements and results
- Social Lunch and recreational activities managed by local volunteers
- Europe, Crisis and Solidarity: reflections from the participants, social workers and volunteers
- Official Ceremony: Signature of the Cooperation Agreement – Gift Exchange
- Press Conference: presentation of VIEW to press and authorities
- Tour of Lillafüred Palace and Lake
- Official Dinner

The day of 07/09/2022 was dedicated to:
- Meeting among the representatives of the delegations to plan VIEWs follow-up
- Lunch box and departure of the delegations
